Work Hours: 7 days; 0500 - 1900
The Nutrition Assistant supports the mission of providing quality healthcare to the patients of WhidbeyHealth by partnering with clinical and non-clinical professional to ensure the appropriate nutritional care is delivered to the patient. This position requires the highest level of customer service when interacting with patients, families, and staff acting as a liaison with all internal and external customers of the Food & Nutrition Svcs department and is expected to be a professional and personable representative of the organization. In addition to supporting the nutrition care provided to the patient, this position performs clerical functions and other duties as assigned that support the Food & Nutrition Svcs department. **Weekend Duty / Holiday Rotation**
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Qualified candidates must have advanced knowledge of various hospital based diets, as well as food production and storage. Candidates must also possess effective, professional interpersonal skills as well as excellent service skills. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Dietary Aide or similar prior experience in healthcare food service required. Current and valid Food Handler's Permit required to be maintained. High school diploma or equivalent required, advanced education preferred (i.e. Associate's degree or continuing education in nutrition).
