The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for assisting physicians, midlevel providers, and other clinical staff in providing medical services to patients with provider delegation within scope of practice. The principle functions include the following, other duties may be assigned: maintains efficient clinic work flow, assesses client for education needs, functions within limit and scope of Nurse Practice Act, listens to clients and families and offers reassurance and emotional support, respects dignity of client and maintains confidentiality of records and verbal communications, provides telephone triage: relays medication orders to pharmacists, facilitates referrals, and uses assessment skills and clinic protocols to respond to medical questions from clients, maintains accurate patient records, and maintains health and safety standards within the clinic environment, including quality control, infection control, management of hazardous materials and security.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited NP program, WA State NP License and current BLS certification required. One (1) year experience as an NP preferred.
