UW Neighborhood Clinics (UWNC) is looking for a Social Worker to join our dynamic team at the Olympia Clinic!

 

 

UWNC is a community-based, not-for-profit primary care network serving patients in 14 clinic locations throughout the greater Seattle area, including; Olympia, Smokey Point, and Lopez & Orcas Islands. As a Behavioral Health Integration Program (BHIP) Social Worker, you will provide specific, evidence based MH interventions to a caseload of 40-50 patients over 18 years of age. Some interventions include: CBT for anxiety/depression, behavioral activation, distress tolerance training.
 

As a Generalist Social Worker, you will also provide direct social work services to patients ranging from infancy to adulthood in areas including mandatory reporting, crisis intervention and brief psychosocial assessment.


 
All UWNC Social Workers are expected to closely coordinate all the above with the patient's primary care provider and primary care team.
 
Priority patients include:

  • Patients in need of psychiatric evaluation or experiencing a psychiatric emergency
  • Victims of sexual assault
  • Victims of domestic  violence
  • Vulnerable populations including elderly, disabled and under 18 years of age
  • Patients with co-occurring disorders (behavioral health and substance abuse)
  • Patients needing other services as requested by provider.

         
 
This position may be hired as a Social Worker 1 or 2, depending on candidate's qualifications. 

REQUIREMENTS:
 
SOCIAL WORKER 1
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification.

 
Education

  • A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

 
Experience

  • Eligible to be a social work practicum instructor for the University of Washington, School of Social Work.

 
Legal Requirement

  • Licensed in Washington State as a Licensed Social Work Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) at time of hire.

 
Preferred Experience

  • Current professional social work experience in a healthcare setting or equivalent.

 
 
 
SOCIAL WORKER 2
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification.

 
Education

  • A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

 
Experience

  • Three years of full-time professional social work experience in a health-care setting or equivalent.
  • Eligible to be a social work practicum instructor for the University of Washington, School of Social Work.
  • Must be eligible for credentialing through the Harborview Medical Center Administrative Credentialing Committee for Allied Health Practitioners.

 
Legal Requirement

  • Registration as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) required at time of hire.
  • Current NPI number or eligible to obtain NPI number.

 
 
 
The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast paced hospital or clinic setting, preferably in a primary care/medical environment, be very organized, able to handle and triage multiple, competing demands on any given day, and a current license to practice within the State of Washington.
