Director of Project Management

TwinStar is seeking a Director of Project Management to join our Digital Banking team! This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations and employees in the Project Management Office (PMO). Responsible to implement, oversee, and maintain the Project Management Office (PMO), including initiating, planning, executing, managing, and completing organizational projects. Essential functions and tasks:

  • Collaborate closely with the identified project Executive Sponsor to develop the project charter; identify milestones; develop the project plan; gather requirements; establish priorities and deadlines; and ensure assigned tasks in each stage are on track and completed.
  • Consult and interact with executive and other management teams, internal customers, and vendors to ensure effective project execution.
  • Manage the planning, initiation, execution, monitoring and closing phases of organizational projects using project management best practices to ensure projects are completed in a cost-effective, quality manner.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including details related to resource requirements, project risks, business unit impact, timelines, schedules, budgets, and communication.
  • Identify project risks, including probability, business unit impact, and resource constraints and mitigate risks through contingency plans.
  • Establish key strategic measures of success for projects and implement tracking plans. Monitor and track progress on project and business initiatives, adjusting resources and priorities as needed.
  • Maintain a communication plan to report the status of collaboration projects and other business initiatives to the Project Steering Committee and other key stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicate the overall project deliverables and status to all project team members, both internal and external.
  • Evaluate and monitor the operational and financial benefits of collaboration activities based on strategic value, available resources, associated risks, and cost to ensure that activities are aligned with the organization's strategic plan, metrics, initiatives, and vision.
  • Ensure the ongoing development and implementation of project policies, procedures, tools, and techniques as such that they develop in line with the organization's cultural and technical requirements. Communicate and disseminate information to other organizational stakeholders.
  • Develops, plans and schedules for the efficient use of materials, resources and employees resulting in outstanding service-delivery.
  • Manages and supervises assigned employees according to established credit union procedures and applicable State and Federal laws.
  • Conducts employment interviews and makes hiring decisions or recommendations as authorized by their manager.
  • Communicates creation of/or updated changes to the credit unions processes, policies/procedures and/or other pertinent information; either immediately or through scheduled staff meetings.
  • Assists direct reports with complex transactions and escalated member service issues. Resolves or makes decisions related to the service and operational functions of the department as authorized by their manager and credit union procedures.
  • Ensures department operations are in compliance with all security, audit, regulatory compliance, information security, customer privacy, and Bank Secrecy Act/Customer Identification Program policies and procedures.
  • Works with their manager in developing short and long-term goals and plans for the branch/department.
  • Works with their manager to prepare budget forecasts and/or requests.

 

 Job Experience Requirements and Preferences

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field or equivalent experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Three (3) or more years of project management experience
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Must have valid driver's license.

Preferred:

  • 15+ years program or portfolio management in a financial or operations environment.
  • 15+ years working across functional areas to develop effective business solutions that align with company and business unit/department objectives.
  • 7+ years leading or managing teams
  • Financial institution experience preferred

 

Licenses or Certification Requirements and Preferences

Required:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Preferred:

  • PMP or ITIL
