Eastern State Hospital (ESH) is hiring Psychiatrists to guide multi-disciplinary treatment teams dedicated to promoting recovery from behavioral health issues. Eastern State Hospital is a fully accredited, state-owned, 290 bed psychiatric inpatient hospital serving eastern Washington and is located near Spokane.
Psychiatrists provide psychiatric care to patients on three wards (Forensic Services Unit, Adult Psychiatric Unit, and Geropsychiatric Unit) and perform comprehensive diagnostic assessments of patients in order to create individual treatment plans. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most complex cases and assist patients on their road to recovery.
Basic duties include certifying medical necessity of hospital level of care, prescribing and reviewing appropriate medication and treatment, performing ongoing assessments of the patient's response to treatments and developing and reviewing a release plan or justification for continued inpatient status.

Compensation and benefits
The Department of Social and Health Services offers a competitive base salary starting at $265,404.00 along with 1.25 times regular pay for voluntary on-call, additional monthly pay for board certification, a superb benefits package, a relocation package and annual funding for continuing medical education. H1B/J1 visa candidates are encouraged to apply.
We can offer up to $50,000 in additional pay for board certification, new hire incentive, loan repayment offers, and continuing medical education as eligible.
