The Environmental Assessment Program (EAP) is looking to fill a Secretary Senior position. This position is located in our Headquarters building in Lacey, WA

The Secretary Senior position reports and serves as a Secretary Senior coordinating logistic for the Cannabis Task Force, performing higher-level secretarial duties, specifically: working with the lead task force chemist to provide support such as coordinating meeting dates, facility reservations, and agendas, coordinating with scientists and policy makers outside of the agency, gathering documentation to be used in the development of a cannabis laboratory accreditation program, serving as a liaison between the task force and the communications team coordination, and assisting the task force lead as needed.

Duties


 

Ecology's mission is to protect, preserve, and enhance Washington's environment, and promote the wise management of our air, land, and water. Ecology's goals are to prevent pollution, clean up pollution and support sustainable communities and natural resources.

The mission of the Environmental Assessment Program (EAP) is to measure, assess, and communicate environmental conditions in Washington State. 

Some of the key work activities of the Secretary Senior position include:
Serves as the cannabis task force clerical lead: 
  • Coordinates task force meetings, facilities, agendas, and other logistics.
  • Coordinates with scientists and policy makers outside of the agency, gathering documentation to be used in the development of a cannabis laboratory accreditation program.
  • Updates and creates SharePoint pages.
 
What is this position expected to accomplish:
This position assists the chair and task force leads to ensure deadlines are met and goals are reached by: Supporting teamwork and cooperation in the work environment, being dependable, able to work independently, maintaining data in tracking programs, and maintaining computer skills for scientific writing reviews.

This position requires that a person:
Must be able to work Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm with the possibility of travel, attend various meetings at headquarters and other areas of the state, if needed.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:



A High School Diploma or GED

AND

Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work.

Formal education will substitute year-for-year for experience.
