Be part of a computing revolution! Join Microsoft’s Quantum team and lead the development of software that will be used to program and control quantum computers. You will manage the team that is developing the software, including the compiler, tools, and runtime, for quantum computers. You will collaborate with a leading team of physicists, hardware designers, software developers, engineers, researchers, and program managers to make quantum computing accessible to developers, customers, and organizations. Join the team who has produced the open sourced Microsoft Quantum Development Kit (QDK) and the quantum programming language Q#, and empower our community with the next wave of quantum software to unlock solutions to today’s most challenging problems.
This role is responsible for managing a team of software developers building software for cloud-enabled quantum computers. Our team is collaborative, inclusive, agile, passionate, and a community. In addition to providing leadership and management of a team of software developers, an essential focus for this role is to help your team members grow through coaching, career development, and guidance. Active mentoring and team building will be a core responsibility. A passion for seeing a computing revolution through to its delivery is essential, including an excitement for quantum computing and empowering people and organizations with its promise.
Our team is globally distributed; some members of the team may be based outside of the United States. Some travel to Europe, Australia, and within the US is required.
Prior experience with quantum computing or quantum physics isn’t required although a thirst to learn more about the space is necessary; this is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge in these areas. Experience with cloud services and solutions, compilers, developer tools, low-level device drivers and kernels, and hardware/software co-design are all helpful.
- 10 or more years of programming or engineering or development experience
- 5 or more years of management experience
- 3 or more years of .NET programming experience
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or physics
