Associate Faculty Pool, Physics & Astronomy (PT Faculty)

DESCRIPTION:  ThePhysics Department teaches courses in majors and/or non-majors physics and non-majors astronomy.For further information about the Physics Department, please visit the department web page at http://www.edcc.edu/stem/physics/default.html.


  • Master's degree, or equivalent degree, in physics, astronomy, or a related science.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English. 
  • Teaching experience at a community college.
  • Experience teaching to non-majors level students (general education courses).
  • Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse ages, backgrounds, life experiences and abilities.

 Additional Information:
Work is typically performed in a classroom and laboratory, which requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Instructors typically use a personal computer in the work environment.
Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A lecture class with two 2-hour lab meetings weekly is $5,817 per quarter.

  • This position is part of a bargaining unit subject to a collective bargaining agreement. 
  • Position is subject to a criminal background check.
