Elementary School Teacher, DigiPen Academy Homeschool Program

Department:K-12 Academy
Location:Redmond, WA

DigiPen Academy’s K12 Department is seeking experienced, reliable, and engaging teaching staff to join our team of educators. In this position, you will work with homeschool students, in grades K-12, to provide a tailored educational experience that meets each student’s unique learning goals.

Teaching Certificate is NOT required

Flexible hours and holidays off

Can teach one or multiple classes to suit their schedule

Essential Functions / Goals

  • Plan, prepare, and teach weekly lesson plans that meet the educational needs and abilities of a group of students
  • Utilize a wide variety of teaching methods to create differentiated learning opportunities
  • Help homeschooling families and students achieve their educational goals
  • Provide a classroom experience that is encouraging, and positive
  • Communicate well with students, faculty, and parents
  • Responsive and able to adapt quickly in the classroom
  • Provide clear weekly email communication to students and their families
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Use a range of IT tools to accomplish tasks

Qualifications / Competencies

  • At least 2 years teaching experience in the field of expertise
  • Excellent organization and communication skills with attention to details

Experience Level

Prefer 5 years teaching experience working with students of varying ages and abilities.

Working conditions

May require staff training outside of teaching hours. The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and significant fine finger dexterity. May need to lift up to 25 lbs. Generally, the job requires 80% standing, 10% sitting, and 10% walking.
