DigiPen Institute of Technology provides students with a solid foundation in game development.

The Department of Computer Science is seeking an applicant with expertise in topical areas in the field of computer science, the ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate student-teams, and pedagogical background to collaborate with the Department Faculty in curriculum development.

This is a full-time position offered at the Lecturer rank. Candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for appointment at the rank of Senior or Principal Lecturer.

Start date: August 1st, 2019, or as early as available

Duties / Responsibilities

•    Lecture and teach in both classroom and lab settings on a daily basis
•    Mentor students in research-based or industry-driven projects
•    Manage the organization and implementation of hands-on labs
•    Collaborate with faculty to develop and improve program and department curriculum
•    Participate in teaching-related service roles, including scheduled office hours, archiving of student work, institutional and department service activities, and research/professional development

Qualifications / Competencies


•    A Master’s degree in Computer Science, or 4+ years of experience in the video game industry or closely related fields
•    Strong grasp of fundamentals of computer science, including one or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, C# 
•    Strong background in game development using Unity or Unreal engines
•    Interest and ability to teach undergraduate and graduate-level computer science courses is essential. 
•    Ability to provide quality feedback, practical work solutions, and instruction in 2D and 3D game development
•    Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate the fundamentals of computer science theory and practice
•    Should have working knowledge of software engineering fundamentals and best practices
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred qualifications

•    Professional experience as a Team Lead in the video game and electronic entertainment industry is a plus.
•    Mentoring experience in guiding student team projects is desired.
