This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.  Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator to join our team in Seattle. This position is responsible for providing administrative support to DWT’s diversity & inclusion initiatives, including firm-wide committee, affinity groups, and supporting the Professional Development with attorney career development initiatives.

Your contribution includes
  • Providing administrative support for DWT’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, which includes arranging meetings, calendar notices, catering and A/V needs; maintaining member lists; drafting meeting minutes; printing and circulating agendas, etc.
  • Handling D&I administrative functions, including scheduling conference calls and meetings, maintaining roster of sponsorships, coordinating registrations and guest lists between DWT attorneys and external organizations, maintaining firm-wide diversity events calendar, processing invoices, and preparing expense reports
  • Maintaining intranet web pages for affinity groups and the D&I Committee with accurate news and information and coordinating with marketing/communications team to ensure external website content is current and accurate
  • Providing administrative and logistical support for events and programs hosted by affinity groups and the D&I Committee, such as internal trainings and workshops, networking mixers, and attorney development programs 
  • Coordinating seminars, webinars and other diversity related events.  Support the professional development/diversity and inclusion on major events and liaison to the event planning team.  
  • Tracking and monitoring the diversity and inclusion budgets under the direction of the director of diversity and inclusion.  Process budget requests.  
  • Coordinating the negotiation and management of diversity related sponsorships including payment, marketing and attendance at sponsorship events. 
  • Conducting research in support of new diversity and inclusion opportunities as identified by attorneys, director of diversity and inclusion or diversity and inclusion specialist.
  • Producing various statistical reports, charts and spreadsheets as needed.  Assist with gathering utilization metrics, feedback from internal affinity groups plus diversity hiring and attrition statistics.
  • In collaboration with the Director and Specialist of D&I, collecting and preparing diversity-related statistical information for surveys, RFPs, and other similar attorney requests.
  • Creating PowerPoint slides illustrating statistical trends and other diversity-related information for presentations to and by the D&I Committee 
  • Monitoring daily news sources, studies, and other external publications for news and developments that are relevant to the D&I Committee’s goals and progress and relaying important, timely information to colleagues 
  • Maintaining communications between Professional Development, HR, Accounting and IST departments to ensure critical data and other information is shared and provided in support of department and firm needs
  • Collaborating with team members to improve current programs and processes, including Path to Partnership, lateral integration, practice development plans, mentoring, etc. Review and update internal internet/portal pages as needed.
Join us if you have
  • 2+ years’ experience providing administrative support required; experience in a law firm, agency or professional services organization a plus
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of a professional services organization
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills to respond to a diverse user group required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the full suite of MS Office products, with particular strength in manipulating data in Excel 
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, composed manner
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with constant changes
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information
  • Ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and propose solutions with a focus on results
  • Ability to work independently while also working as a strong team player
  • Demonstrated experience with data management software
