Description of position

The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Analyst is responsible for increasing sales through site and member analytics, through the utilization of search engine optimization, recommendations, A/B testing, personalization and other tools. This individual will be expected to provide best practices and innovation to improve the online experience for thereby enhancing searchability that will drive organic traffic and business growth. This position will be expected to partner with members of IS and the business to execute and improve SEO strategies focused on technology and content initiatives. They will partner with other members of the SEO team to define key metrics, set up reports, conduct analysis and provide recommendations for improvements to IS and eCommerce business. The ideal candidate will be a strong data analyst in online/ecommerce business and knowledge of digital marketing and search engine optimization projects. The candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to successfully manage complex projects and roll-outs to tight timelines simultaneously a must.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Provides support to IS team leads, UX and technology partners to implement initiatives
  • Collaborates with numerous outside vendors that support SEO strategy and drive growth
  • Performs ongoing keyword research including discovery and expansion of keyword opportunities
  • Partners with Development teams to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code and applications
  • Analyzes web traffic to drive insights to optimize user acquisition efforts
  • Defines and tracks KPI’s and partner with IS an the business to drive SEO projects internationally
  • Measures, reports and analyzes results across products, channel, platform and other reporting segments
  • Have responsibility for monthly Product KPI reports and optimization projects and work to ensure these reports meet the business needs
  • Organizes and manages A/B testing and multivariate experiments by partnering with UX and business partners
  • Willing to work flexible extended work hours as the occasion or business requires
  • Assists in other areas of the department and company as needed

Required skills, abilities, and certifications

  • Experience with HTML and Javascript
  • Strong analytical ability and familiarity with Google analytics, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target and other third party keyword research and SEO tools
  • Proficient in the understanding of analytical processing including data management, optimization, predictive modeling and visualization
  • Successful track record of managing multiple projects and work streams independently
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and team skills, must work well with peers and all levels of the organization
  • Advanced Excel, Google Sheets experience
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Minimum commitment of one year to the same team.

Recommended skills, abilities, and certifications

  • Understanding of best practices for ecommerce search
  • Ability to identify and implement continuous process improvement
  • Minimum 3 years experience with SEO and eCommerce websites
  • BA/BS from an accredited university
  • Dedication to learning and development of SEO expertise
