Containers are redefining how our customers are building, deploying, and running their applications. Do you want to join the Amazon Container Services team and help customers by defining the future of containers on Amazon EKS?

Amazon EKS is looking for an experienced leader to help us define product strategy for our managed Kubernetes service and open source offerings and accelerate adoption of containers in the cloud. We are looking for a broad and deep leader who will own and drive product management across a range of container offerings. As a Principal Product Manager (Technical), you will own product development from strategy/product vision through feature definition, prioritization, positioning, naming, and GTM/adoption. We are looking for experienced product managers who are passionate about solving customer problems, and who have demonstrated success working backwards from ambiguous customer needs, translating them into disruptive, successful products that delight customers.

Working closely with and across agile teams, you will be able to see and feel the impact of your work on our customers. This is a high visibility and high impact role that will interact with all levels of AWS leadership. Our ideal candidate is excited about the incredible opportunity cloud computing represents and is deeply passionate about delivering the highest quality services. You’re naturally customer centric and thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires strong technical and business judgment and solid communication skills.

In this position, you will play a pivotal role defining product requirements, go-to-market strategy, and tirelessly champion the needs of our customers. This role will require coordination across many internal and external teams and will be visible at the highest levels of the company. You’ll work with our customers, partners, software vendors, and operational stakeholders to prioritize roadmap features, and spearhead the definition of new capabilities through expertly crafted business requirements documents.

The successful candidate must have exceptional problem solving skills, strong business judgment, and demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams. We are looking for a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and someone who is excited to take on new, ambiguous projects that will be industry defining. This position requires a solid technical background, and the candidate should be customer-focused with a passion for containers and cloud technology. Past experience in the containers and especially Kubernetes, is a plus, but not required.

    Basic Qualifications

    • 10+ years of product management experience with completion of full product lifecycle (from concept through GTM)
    • BS or BA in computer science, engineering, math, finance, or economics
    • 5+ years of product management experience in the cloud computing technology space
    • Experience with finance related skills relating to P&L management and pricing

    Preferred Qualifications

    • MBA or equivalent master’s degree from a top MBA program
    • Demonstrated success translating complex qualitative and quantitative customer feedback into successful products/features/solutions
    • Have experience with scheduling and cluster management technologies such as Mesos, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit with track record for delivering results in fast-moving environments
    • Experience with agile software development methodologies like scrum.
    • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
    • Understanding of AWS
    • Proficient with web services technologies
    • Proficient in SQL
