A vision and a plan to enrich the communities through the Hispanic culture in Washington state and the Northwest.
MISSION OF CENTRO CULTURAL HISPANO AMERICANO
- Provide a venue of expression for Hispanic American artists
- Inform, preserve, interpret and promote the culture, folklore and traditions of
all the Hispanic American countries, including Brazil, Spain and Portugal
- Fund Art Scholarships for the Hispanic American youth
GOALS OF CCHA
Promote the culture, folklore and traditions of all the Hispanic American countries through cultural, literary, educational and athletic events, as a nonprofit organization, under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code
Obtain or build a Cultural Center that serves as a central platform from which to serve Washington and the northwest Hispanic American community in order to:
- Provide Art scholarships to Hispanic American youth
- Develop and sponsor cultural and educational conferences, seminars & workshops with the participation of local and foreign Hispanic artists
- Present traditional and contemporary theatrical, musical, dance, and multidisciplinary artistic events with local and foreign Hispanic artists
- Promote artists with different backgrounds: painting, literature, sculpture, theater, dance, film, culinary, ceramics, etc., as well as sports; e.g., soccer, basketball, baseball, and tennis
- Teach and show the history of Hispanics in the state of Washington
- Present workshops and panel discussions with nationally known authors, agents, editors, and publicists
- Create a platform for the community at large to share ideas, resources, experiences and research
- Create an Information Center and a link between Hispanic organizations and provide them with an opportunity to be affiliated to CCHA
- Promote unity among Hispanic organizations and provide them with infrastructure to help them carry out their objectives
